Valve have just released a massive update for Left 4 Dead. There’s now a new survival mode and you can now play all the campaigns in versus mode.

We’ve updated all 3 of our servers so that you can play any mode (Survival, Versus and Co-op) on our servers, and what’s better is it’s now even easier to use our low ping Irish based servers thanks to the update. All you need to do it add yourself to this steam group and you can then setup your own friends games or public games on our servers in game by choosing the use steam group server option.

Call Of Duty:Modern Warfare 2 is getting a lot of hype and is set to make up for the (in my opinion) Absolute fail of a project known as COD:World at War, which I think for the most part people would agree was a dire excuse for a successor to CoD4. Thank god those gypsy’s at Treyarch have nothing to do with the latest edition to the series and Infinity Ward can do what they do best and make a great Call of Duty game. Anyway it has been announced that CODMW2 will be released sometime in the Holiday season (Crimbo) 2009 and is sure to be a great game.

The Counter Strike:Source mini games server has undergone some updates in the last day or two! There has been about 10 new maps added including many unique mini games such as dodgeball , hilldash , boulderdash , jetpacks and many more! The mini game server can be found at 78.137.160.11:27060. To avoid you spending time downloading all the maps separate from the server at a slowish speed I have uploaded 2 map packs which contain all the maps on the servers at the moment. To install the maps extract them (they are .rar so use winrar) and then put them in your maps directory (typically located at C:Program FilesSteamsteamapps”Username”Counter Strike Sourcecstrikemaps)

However some of the partners over at ATI are not in agreement with this price slash as they thing the card is ”TOO GOOD” for this price range and still belongs at the 200 euro mark as it can still compete with the GTX260 easily,but ATI want to have a card at the same pricing level as the  GTX250 (rebranded 9800GTX) despite the fact that it kicks the living Tits out of the contender. Either way it looks like the ‘we’ the consumer benefit from this healthy competition between the green team and the red team, lets hope they keep it up

*From my experience the HD4870 is a great card and will have no trouble running any of today’s latest games, so if anybody is in the market for a great future proof card that wont cost u an arm a leg and a pair of your favourite pajamas’s then id definitely recommend the ATI solution to you*

The Nations Cup is a tournament were the best players from each country are selected for their chosen game and play against all the other countries in Europe. This Cup gets massive attention on most gaming scene but especially the Call of Duty / CSS scene.
Currently four of Irish E-Sports CoD4 competitive team are participating in the Clan base Nations Cup and have been doing a brilliant job so far of giving Europe’s top teams a run for their monies

The team consists of :

Infused Gaming’s - Wannabe (Captain)
Irish E-Sports - BaTzoR
Irish E-Sports - Shaun
Irish E-Sports - Philzor
Irish E-Sports - Moff

The Irish Squad have played 4 matches and haven’t lost a single game yet. The results of the games can be found here

I think that the level in which the iE squad has been playing at, really does  say something about the progression of Irish gaming and how capable Irish gamers are in terms of taking on the best. Hopefully Ireland places well in the nations Cup as past years we haven’t won a single award on clan base. Despite this I think with the committed and skilled lineup of the new Irish Squad, Team Ireland will do a great job and will definitely be changing peoples outlook on Irish Gamers at least in the CoD4 scene.

The next Nations Cup game is tomorrow, Team Ireland vs Team Netherlands, Its unclear whether or not it will be shoutcasted but even still its definitely going to be a thrilling match. Be sure to follow Team Ireland on clan base and with a bit of luck you’ll be seeing Ireland in the semi Finals.
