Where to start depends on what you want. Good starting point might be boards. Lot of treads about new builds and Komplett have been running comps on price builds for a while Try http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055828943 about building as cheap a machine as possible to run Dirt 2

Right, do you only need the case or do you also need a new monitor and stuff?

Ah sorry, should of said that ofcourse. Keyboard, mouse, LAN cable lol, headset. All sorted. The monitor is fine too I think. How can I find out the highest resolution of it? Or is that dictacted by the graphics card. 1280 x 1024 is the highest I can go atm. So if thats the monitors fault, then maybe a new one too.

Keep your current monitor for the time being and I'm sure there are a few things you an rummage from your old PC like a HD. Use the savings on the monitor and get a better graphics card or wait a bit till Nvidia releases their DX11 cards and that might drive prices down a little.

What you have there aint terrible €800? - I would go for a High-end AMD over a mid range i5 - i will piece some gear together when i get home
i have a personal hatred of all things MSI - thats an mATX mobo btw - not sure if that necessary considering you are getting an Antec 300

Yeah I guess I could salvage shit from the first one like the HDD. I dont mind spending the money though. I guess I could go near 1k if needed.
Would that stuff you posted Earzz be good for the new battlefield for example?
I also have some RAM in this machine. Could that be simply slotted in or does all ram kinda need to be the same.

Like Jay said I'd lean towards AMD, better price/performance. You won't be able to use the ram because it's DDR2 and you'll be most likely be going for a DDR3 motherboard. I'd bump the GPU a bit to maybe a 5850.

So is there gonna be a new wave of graphics cards for Dx11 coming out? Thinnk I should hold out untill then?
I dont mind a little price increase for something like that. Its all fine to get a new rig with the ability to upgrade to a new card but personally I dont wanna buy something and have a new generation or w/e, released just a month later. I'd gladly hold out.

Pirate Windows 7, no point forking out up to a 100 beans for a license. Yeah there are a new batch of cards due out, they are Nvidia's offering in DX11 and while ATI cards already are capable of DX11 I think you'd be best out to hold out a bit and wait for a price war hopefully.

Welcome to Pc's mate. Currently all hardware become's outdated within 6minutes 29seconds of buying the damn thing and its always the way it goes. DX11 is here to stay for a while so any good dx11 card will do you for a few years. I recently upgraded to a 5770 (€120) knowing it was outdated the day i got it but with dx11 and 1gb of ddr5 onboard its a very good price for a what it is. The cutting edge is unreachable due to constantly shifting goalposts but i ran an 8800 gtx for 3 years and it only started to feel sluggish recently with newer games so dont go mental on a high end card that will cost a fortune and be outdated instantly anyway. Komplett is a little more expensive than other sources online but for choice, the pick up point free delivery and backup services they are an easy one stop shop for everything you need. I have used komplett for a long time and had very little trouble with them at all for deliverys or returns under warrenty. As for Windows 7 its a good choice but personally i wouldnt buy it (Torrent/Rapidshare)
